Be a Witness of Our Faith—Let’s Take the Time to Play

And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets. Zechariah 8:5
Wow, this verse speaks volumes for our current times. Today I blog as a reminder that WE are living examples of our times. It’s shocking to see such disreputable displays of passion throughout the news these days. Men, women, the young, and the old disrespecting, looting, harming, and sinning in attempt to make a point. But what point is this lack of integrity making?
Zechariah 8 explains how we had gotten lost in poor and misdirected conduct. This behavior became so embedded in many that they were unable to see lines of discretion. But God saw, the prophet saw, and they were not pleased. Even more disheartening was the followed behavior of their children. This particular verse speaks of repair upon returning to truth and light. And how it will bring about new life to the young as well. As the people reform, we can look to the children as examples of the times. For they will follow.
Today’s post is about us taking care of our homes, our children, and our land. It’s about us focusing on OUR marriage, work life, and neighborly affection, being righteous with God’s help. Let us teach our children these ways so they might know peace and strength among the outside chaos.
Many of us are snowbound and tucked safely in our homes. Our kids are home from school. Many of us are off work. Today, be a witness of faith—take the time to play with a peaceful and joyful heart. Let’s embrace the love and peace we know we have from God the Father. YOU’RE an excellent example to your children!
Enjoy this snowbound winter-weather day—and play!
