WHAT HAS ‘HE’ WRITTEN ABOUT YOU?

What Has God Written About You?

WHAT HAS HE WRITTEN ABOUT YOU?

The image used in this post is a zoomed in snapshot of a lighthouse on Lake Michigan. We spent a week at my uncles home which overlooked a pier and beautiful lighthouse. You would think my post would be all about God being our ‘light and guide’ directing us.

Instead, I wanted to share with you how beautiful I know all of you are. Regardless of any labels that may be etched in your heart, mind, and soul…like those written all over this lighthouse.  You are beautiful. As years pass we often get named, labeled, and even name called. Sure, we might know they are not true, but they can still hurt and leave marks. Sometimes we see or feel them so often that we eventually give in to believing what we have been told as truth.

It wasn’t until I got my picture back out to look at, that I realized all that graffiti. I guess I was so enamored by the strength and light of the lighthouse I’d overlooked the names. Some of the names etched into its structure were fine, some even good, but there were plenty of bad ones. Enough that I couldn’t post the section with me on it 😉

That is what I want to impress upon us all today. Sure sometimes our friends, family, or even complete strangers will say something really wonderful and true about us but I hate for us to get used to hearing and believing the world. The world tells us too many things about ourselves that are simply not true.

You are my sisters and brothers, made new in Christ. You are royal heirs to our almighty father. You are my friend, a beautiful child of God. You are bold, chosen, blessed and transformed! You are raised up- in the name of Jesus 😉 You are filled up and made righteous by God himself. You are a conqueror! You are redeemed and forgiven. You are a child of God, holy and blameless before him in love. You are rooted, built up and predestined. You are justified by grace and ambassadors for Christ. You are a temple of the Holy Spirit, a son of God and a child of the light.
