True Beauty Is NOT Defined by This World

Beauty

In the same day I found myself thinking about beauty from two different angles. No, I don’t mean recognizing a beautiful face from the right side and the left side. I am talking about how we recognize beauty from our own view and when viewing others.

The verses here are not left to wonder. In fact, these verses are almost screaming the truth at us … yet we often fail to live by these words. I suppose the world is doing such vigilant work trying to dispel all truth here, which is why I wanted to do today’s blog.

We cannot fall prey to the world and its efforts to twist or shape our understanding of beauty.

He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in God’s sight.” Luke 16:15

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

The truths of beauty I hear from these verses: It is the heart that shows true beauty. It is the heart that is valuable and praiseworthy. It is a heart after God, loving and kind, that shows true beauty.

Let’s be beautiful today! It will not matter your size, complexion, or features. The only need is a beautiful heart!
