In Him All Things Hold Together

Peace and beauty among the chaos!

For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:16-17

Spring and fall always heighten my awareness of Gods amazing work in our world. It can be easy to lose faith if we focus on the world too much. Our nation is so divided today, it’s disappointing to see how poorly we treat each other at times, and it can be truly disheartening to stop and think of how loose our moral compass as a nation has become.

However, there is a great sense of peace and gratitude that comes when we stop focussing on what the world should do or is not doing, and rather we put our energies toward all the strength, power, and care God truly has over the world and all of us.

We need to remind ourselves that God is in control, and it is ok to sit back on occasion and really see the beauty in this world. I love the song, ‘What A Wonderful World’ by Lee Williams & Harvey Watkins, Jr. It is played in the movies, where the scene is absolutely desperate…and yet somehow there is still a way to see and feel the good in the world.

So today I lift us up to the challenge of seeing God’s amazing unity and work in this world, giving Him the glory. By this, we recognize his strength and with that comes peace among the chaos.
