THE JOYS OF FRIDAY!!

Sure we love our jobs and give thanks to God for directing us and sustaining us within them…but don’t you just wanna run out of work some Fridays?
We know it’s a blessing to have great work like being an at home mom/dad, or managing a high-level corporate job that serves others and gives in a way that feeds your soul. But still, by the end of the work week we sometimes just need to refuel.
It can be so draining to give, give, and give. And I don’t want you to feel bad if come Friday….you just want to escape 🙂
I wonder how many of us feel the need to head for the hills after work on Friday?
I have noticed that if I stop long enough to truly acknowledge the good hard work that HAS BEEN DONE, it is easier for me to see the weekend as a gift and blessing of that GOOD OLD HARD WORK WEEK. It becomes natural to look joyfully at a hard week if I intentionally dedicate the weekend for reward, rest, and rejoicing.
It changes my attitude when I have joyful plans, times of rest, and church set up for the weekend. My focus is more on the joy of what is to come versus the need to escape what was so difficult…
Instead of desperately needing the weekend…We can joyfully look forward to it!
Look at the passion this guy is showing for his weekend! I actually used this image a couple years ago. It’s a little silly but honestly…
Let’s plan to work super hard through the week, then joyfully welcome in the weekend. Throughout today, spend an idle second here and there feeling great about a good hard work week and getting excited about tonight, tomorrow and Sunday. Grow some joy for your weekend!
