I like these Google-search definitions of restoration:OWNERSHIP: "I am His & He is mine." As we come to truly understand that we are God's children (adopted and owned), we gain His authority and power over us. Shall we be owned by the world to gain the world's power and authority, or owned by God and all His glory? PLACE: I especially like the definition including
PLACE: I especially like the definition including place as a significant element. Where is God in our torn lives? Letting God be our thread of hope in these difficult times is hard. We sometimes get caught in the chaos of this world and leave Him, which often traps us in despair. Today, let's give respect to the place we put God in our lives during difficulties. Let's PLACE Him FIRST!
CONDITION: Ahh, now this is what we were waiting for. We commonly think of God's restoration in our lives as Him healing us ... bringing us back to a good place. But look up there at the definitions again. There is something that jumps out to me—the word action. Hmm, so true, so true. We must first act. Act in faith by calling on God, knowing He will respond to our prayers of returning to our former and restored condition. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24
THRONE: King above all kings. This is where we truly get mended. Oh, we can live in and of the world all we want. But I know the healing and mending we get from the world is brief and does not sustain. It's all the world can offer. Sure, we may feel restored for a moment in time, but we shall not be fooled. We want God who is in, of, and above the world to do our healing and restoring. This healing is not a quick fix, like mending tape that might do its job for today but, once put through the test of time, will only loosen, unravel, and leave an even bigger hole.
Let us let recognize ourselves as His, OWNED by our Heavenly Father. Let us place our hope, our broken lives, in Him FIRST. Let us remember the action we must take when looking for God's help and restoration. Ask and believe. And let's stop looking to the temporary fixes found in this world. Let's put our hope in the restoring power of our Lord!
