The Armor of God:
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:10-18
3. The Gift: if you follow what the Word says... you receive so much peace, protection, and assistance.
The Armor of God will help you...
-stand against darkness: Have you ever met someone who seemed so strong...but they were just a frail little thing? Yep, that is often God... giving them strength beyond their will alone.
-be able to stand your ground: People will listen to you. Your voice and words will resonate.
-righteousness: Have you ever noticed how some folks squeak through difficulties or sabotage without a hair out of place? That's God.
-readiness: Super alert, God alert. How do some know when to show up, when to catch an act, when to avoid a calamity? That's God.
-peace: How is it that some folks can walk through turmoil with peace like a river?... God.
-protection: Unscathed. While others are being pulled down and torn apart some are guarded. God.
4. The Choice: Last, you'll have to make a choice. I suggest using the 4-Step process for making a wise decision, pg. 113 in the Awaking the Living Legacy book. The idea is that you take whatever your difficulty/challenge/decision that needs to be made, addressed, or changed... and check in with God. We can 'do this world' all on our own if we want. It's called free will :-) But, do we really want to do that? I say, at every turn check in with God and His plans for your life. IF you commit to following His direction or what your heart 'thinks' is right and the direction he has intended for you.... then you can chill out and let life fall into place a bit. He will be opening doors, shutting others, and even redirecting you as you get off track. He will be protecting you and fighting for you. With God, there is no NEED to stress. He will have your back! Always.
