What can we do when what is around us seems difficult, stressful, or wrong?

So often I hear my clients ask me what they should avoid as they are in difficult situations and I love that. To me it shows they are thinking ahead and trying to be proactive....to be wise to a stressful situation or difficulty upon them, versus inviting the darkness around to invade their life. Today I want to talk about what we are directed to do ONCE WE ARE IN THE MIDST of turmoil, stress or something you know is wrong. Sometimes there is nothing we could have done to prevent these dark times and yet here we are, smack dap in the middle of darkness.

Today, I say "Light a Candle"... as Eleanor Roosevelt so eloquently put it, "It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness." So when we find ourselves in a dark place do everything you can to invite God and His light into this space. HE will offer light, blotting out the power of darkness. See the verses below for just how to invite 'light' in and for all the wisdom it carries.

12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:12-17

Let's be the acolytes to this land and shed light wherever darkness hides!
