Success and Enthusiasm While on the Journey

Enthusiastic surfing
Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm. Winston Churchill

I like this quote. It reminds me of a friend who was a little down on herself for not having a talent or skill that she could enjoy and do really well. With kindness and frustration, she said to me that I was good at everything I did- and it wasn’t fair. (huh)

I wanted to bust out in tears over all of the years and times I have struggled with imperfection- in order to learn and grow to this place that I still knew needed so much work! Part of me also wanted to roll into a deep belly laugh at how I somehow managed to appear this way to my sweet, beautiful, and VERY talented friend 🙂

The thing is we all struggle through unfamiliar or difficult places as we grow. It is just easier to overlook the pain of growth when the growth is of Gods designed. Today’s post is about understanding and working Gods design for you and your life.

If we truly feel we are working a God-given plan, let’s face it, we have to be comfortable enough with ourselves to look silly for a bit, as we work to refine our talent. We have to ride the waves as they come, sending appreciation up to our Father as we advance. We need to be prepared to feel the crash at times knowing it is only for a moment and with each fall comes insight to used in the future. And, we need to tread water, resting at times, as we reach new places of comfort. But this rest must only be for a season because God has plans for you. He will never be finished with you! So there it goes… We get back up on the wave and start all over again…reaching new heights in an attempt to master our God-given skill one more time.

If I had one piece of advice for growing with enthusiasm. It would be to keep your eye on the proper focus. Oh man, when I look back at my first video for this company. What a joke 🙂 Bah ha ha. I mean that with as much grace as humor. But if I am to be real, most of what I am doing feels foreign and actually wrong to this worldly body at times. AND THERE LIES THE PROBLEM- “THE WORLD!” Much of what sets us back is how we may look, may impress upon, or may affect the WORLD. I try very hard to keep my focus on God. How I may effect God- God’s plans- God’s people- His children- My sisters and brothers in Christ.

Today, let’s be affirmed that we all have great talent and gifts! These gifts need mastered, and we should call on God to help us with that. The Holy Spirit will lead us. The Word will fill us up, and give us life as we go forth, serve, and grow!

Allow yourself to feel a little silly at times for the Glory of God- He will refine your imperfections into greatness as you go and do HIS work. Not ours. And YOU will find yourself enthusiastically growing within the Glory of the Almighty!!!
