As we recognize God’s great work, we gain assurance and peace.
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20 NIV
I understand how important it is to slow down, to recognize God’s great work, and to give Him the glory. And at the same time, this leaves me feeling so responsible. We are to make believers of men, but how can we do this if they cannot see him or his great work? So many people these days see this world and all its great wonder as their own. We often pronounce miracles as chance and nature as power that starts and ends with the world itself, removing all of God’s glory from the equation.
We are so blessed and fortunate to see His great work. By this we are assured with confidence for all that is to come. As we see and know of God’s greatness and promises, we trustingly walk in faith with hope for the future.
Think how difficult this world must be if we “know not.”
Today my heart goes out those who do not see the world as God’s great creation, an example of His eternal power. This morning there is a stirring within my soul to slow down, take in all His glory, recognize it as HIS, not ours. Then let’s let the assurance of what is to come settle in our souls and give us peace.
