OOOo…. hasty decision!

Desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way. Proverbs 19:2

Do you ever make a hasty decision and then about one step into it, you realize….”Wait-maybe this wasn’t the best idea?”

Today’s post is about first being wise to how desire is often the source of hasty decisions and how increasing your knowledge can be all that is needed to keep from regretting a bad move.

Look at Proverbs 19:20. We aren’t necessarily being told desire is bad- we are being told that desire without knowledge can be what get’s us into trouble. So what does this mean? Something important I want to discuss is the type of knowledge we can get. Believe me, all throughout our lives we are taught good things, bad things, and nonsense things….SO I AM TALKING KNOWLEDGE OF ‘GOOD THINGS’ Let’s turn to the ‘Word’. Always look to the heart of your desires.

Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 6:21

I have a podcast coming out on the desire of our hearts and hasty decisions that can get us into trouble but for now just filling yourself up with insight can be a huge help. As you step out to do something, buy something, or even speak your mind…. Take a minute and consider the desire of you heart BEFORE you act (this is NOT hasty and the discipline of this one behavior modification will make a huge impact on your days and life).

-Is the desire of the flesh or of the heart?

-Is the heart desire one that God would also have? (does it serve with love and grace, will it build you or others up in a way that is pleasing to God?)

-Does doing this bring Glory to God?

If you do consider the heart of your desires before you act, you will be on your way to some well thought out wise decisions that will serve you, God, and others well!

Blessings for a wonderful day!
