UNTIL THE NEXT DOOR OPENS…

Until God opens the next door praise Him in the hallway.
I noticed a neighbors vinyl wall saying stating … ‘Until God opens the next door praise Him in the hallway.’ I think I will treat myself to this same piece of art, and to this wonderful reminder of our role as sons and daughters.
What do I do during the in-between times? Am I patient, irritable, confused, at peace, joyful, or do I have a trusting spirit of hope and expectation?
“I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.” Psalms 130:5-6
I love this verse….’more than watchmen for the morning’. Let’s think about that, waiting like it’s our job. A job that provides safety, duty, and responsibility to others. We are not only supposed to wait on the Lord and all His works, but we are to wait like it is our job. A job so important that lives are at stake based on how well it’s done.
Honestly, if I were a watchman I would absolutely wait expectantly. I’d be alert, ready to notice the next move as soon as it happens. Nobody wants a crazy, stressed out watchmen either, right? They must also be poised while waiting, and with confidence.
This God quote and Bible verse have me inspired to pray earnestly, sure. But also, to be joyful while in the hallway. In the in-between times. I want to wait expectantly and with hope because I know God is good and He loves me. And, because I do not want to miss His next move. I want to be poised and confident in Him and His unfailing love for me.
Tonight, let’s praise God for the prayers we know He WILL answer. Let’s feel joy in knowing He will do it His loving way and in His perfect time. Let’s allow ourselves a little grace for the in-between times as we wait upon our next doorway with expectant hope.
