Love thy Neighbor – Shouldn’t it Go Both Ways?

The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:31
We know it is our undeniable job to be loving to our neighbor. And sure, we hope they reciprocate….but how much thought do we give to how loving we treat ourselves?

You are the son or daughter of the One Most High! 🙂 You are wonderfully and beautifully made. You deserve your love too. Really, sometimes I think we are worried we will become arrogant or simply self-absorbed if we love ourself. To that I dare say, it would not be love we are then showering ourselves with….because love is not boastful or arrogant. I am talking about simply treating YOURSELF the way God would treat you. He speaks kindness to you. Through the Holy Spirit- He watches out for you and constantly nudges you to a right place. And with Jesus’s love, which seems insurmountable, He sacrifices life offering you freedom and a clean slate.

Today let’s love ourselves AND our neighbors- just as the Triune does. Today speak kindness to yourself and to others. Inspire your neighbor to greatness and allow yourself to be on a great path. And share forgiveness, to YOURSELF and to others, as you embrace Jesus’s gift…being rid of all things bad and ugly that are holding you down.

Today let’s LOVE BOTH WAYS!
