L.I.F.E.

I have just finished a summit on living a courageous life with Christ. It got me thinking about all kinds of things. We had speakers on raising up Christian children, leadership, tackling health scares with courage, inspiring stories of stepping out on your God-given life purpose, and so much more. These stories got me looking deeply at what living a courageous life with Christ means to me.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
L = LORD, the key, the rock, our Almighty. It takes great trust and courage to submit these earthly bodies to the Lord and It is good. As we submit we make Him the priority over it all. We work for Him, we love by, and remain focused on the truth and light He provides.
I = “I’ (us)- It is our job to spread the good news, love thy neighbor as Christ taught us, and to make fishers of men. Without the ‘I’, without us, we could not do this work for God. It can sound haughty if misunderstood but with complete humbleness, we must step up to the understanding of our role in this world. As parents, neighbors, leaders, we are the vessels. I am the vessel… You are the vessel. God has great work to do in us, through us. HIS WORK, not ours.
F = Forsake, the world forsakes. It tricks us, tempts us, providing for a season but always at risk of being used up, wiped out, and tainted. As Christians we do not depend on the conditions of the world, we live in the unconditional love and support of the omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. He provides beyond the limits of this world. He will never leave me (you) or forsake me (you).
E = Eternal. We recently had the death of a very young man in our family. It is met with such terrible sorrow. But this sorry remains for the lost days here, with us, and for the loved ones that remain behind. My tears never fall for the fortunate soul that returns to the loving arms of OUR HEAVENLY FATHER. There is such freedom to live more boldly within the understanding of our eternal life. We are not watching our days pass with impending doom. We rejoice in the comfort of our eternal life and gift from Christ that lives!
