HOW DO YOU FILL UP?

TODAY’S POST IS A SIMPLY REMINDER OF OUR COMMON TO FILL UP

“So many people were coming and going Jesus said to them `Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.'”  Mark 6:31 (NIV)

I have been doing a lot of traveling for business and today I am on a trip with Jeff and our dear friends, John and JoAnn. This is a trip for relaxing, smiles and laughter. We are in California touring wineries. I plan to take pictures of the beautiful landscapes and buildings.  We will taste different wines that each location labored over until the perfect blend resulted. We will linger at some of the most restful wineries for some quiet and conversation.

This weekend I will think on Mark 6:31. I will use the time to be with people who inspire us to be good Christian friends, parents, and neighbors. I will allow my mind and heart the freedom to slow down and soak up the views and peace around. I will be engaged in the connections we make and understand that God was with me as I refueled and that He will then likely use me to then go and serve more.

Find solitude: to unwind from what distracts and pulls at us. (even good and wonderful things do this)

Welcome peace: so we can quiet the noise, as well as hear and feel God refueling and soon redirecting.

Embrace joy: we are to enjoy life, too. We can’t forget that God wants us working hard — just as much as He wants us enjoying life.
