Hidden words in our hearts? What exactly does this mean?
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin aginst you. Psalm 119:11
I believe the heart holds the fuel to our actions. What might we be hiding in our hearts? It is written that the Lord knows our heart. But, in many respects, as we follow the drive of our heart, others are getting a good glimpse at it as well.
Have you ever missed an opportunity or overlooked something important and thought… “If I had only known that, I would have…” Well, I sure have and often, I could have known. Had I simply asked or made an effort. So what can I do to be more engaged, caring, and aware?
Today I want to remind us of how much control we really do have in how we live out our days. We have the best teacher and the most amazing study guide anyone could ever hope for. The Lord is our teacher and the Bible is our guide.
Knowing that we often behave related to the position of our heart, I am more moved than ever to nourish my mind, heart, and soul with goodness and light. Think how profoundly different our actions will be as we increase our knowledge and compassion of what God desires of our hearts.
Let’s put energy into learning THE WORD and tucking it deep into our heart, mind, and soul. Then we will be living our days more equipped to be loving, aware, kind, and thoughtful toward others.
Set your cell alarm to open to praise music on Pandora. Tune your radio to Christian talk. Spend idle time in prayer and get grounded. Find a podcaster that moves your soul as you exercise or get ready in the morning. Plot out time to listen read or listen time to the Word. His loving words, hide them in your heart, and let the world see your heart, a heart after God!
As you soak in His loving words hide them in your heart and let the world see all the work He is doing in you.
