Grace and Peace This Sunday

Paul reminds us of how grace and peace are not earned or kept for a certain few. Grace and peace are truly there for us all, offered by God and by the sacrifice of Jesus for us all.
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.Galatians 1:3-5
What a blessing and relief. I love all the verses of certainty and freedom we receive through Christ our Savior! And, today is a good day for me to be reminded, which is why we hear from Paul of today’s post.
It’s no fun being human and falling short. I hate it when I slip up. The only thing I am learning to appreciate about this nagging awareness of my sin is that I witness it faster. I often see myself as I act in sin. This helps for a couple reasons. If you’re quick enough you can stop it! If you feel yourself slipping you can try to right it. And if it is after the fact- you can go eat crow and apologize.
The truth is nobody wants to fall short, plans to slip up, or simply be humanly sinful. We can, however, strive to be aware. We can stay in the word and around people who also follow the word. We can recognize it sooner and sooner, as we mature in our faith. We can stop it before we act or we can do our best to right it. We can apologize and invite God into our weakness. We can let Jesus’ undeniable loving act of forgiveness and sacrifice take hold and wipe out the foothold sin can leave on our hearts.
Have you ever noticed how our church services open with a message like Galatians 1:3-5. Whether this post is reaching another in the midst of a sin or not… it’s only a matter of time that we will all stumble. Today’s post is about the grace of Jesus, and its praise to our churches that welcome us into the service with the reminder to let Jesus’ gift work in us and wipe us clean. When sin occurs let’s do our best to apologize or to correct anything we can and let Jesus and God work in us and all involved. Finally, let’s do what we can to put energy toward wising up before the next time!
Blessings and community my sisters and brothers in Christ,
Love Niccie
