Finding Joy in the Journey

Joy

I am being a little selfish here on this ‘Taking Requests Tuesday’. I’m picking a comment that I truly need to reflect on more than anything. So, thank you, friend, you know who you are, but this one is for you AND me 🙂

Right now I am in middle of launching a really great project. It’s so exciting and I know it is right where God wants me. But, it is also very hard. This project is asking a lot of myself and a whole group of wonderful women. So what’s the problem right?  I do not feel the problem is the ‘call’, it’s definitely in line with God and his wishes. It isn’t that it is difficult right now either. I push through a lot of things that are hard, knowing that one day they will likely become quite simple.

As I reflect on this more, it is me and my heart that is the problem. I do not want to get lost in the growing. I never want to lose joy when I need to buckle down… no matter how noble the cause. Sometimes when I push really hard to accomplish something, my diligence can throw me off balance.

So if I know this then what can I do about it? Back away, pull it together, try harder? NOPE, today’s post had me thinking the opposite. “Find the joy.” I need to remember that growing and good work bears good fruit! So, the energy that I must use to push forward needs to be rooted in joy for the fruits…and they will be good!

Praises to our glorious Father! Let’s do good work always, and on those day’s when it gets really hard, do what you can to remember that God needs to be at the center of our labor. Love for the work can drive our energy. Let’s root our mind, heart, and soul in the joyous end to your labor!

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. James 1:2-3
