Enjoy Your Work…And What Comes After!

So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them? Ecclesiastes 3:22
Having a goal, something to shoot for, does wonders for our endurance. Can you imagine having to run in a race with no idea of where the end is? Or, how long the race is? With any project, it makes a huge difference if we remain motivated and have an idea of what to focus on.

This is what today’s message is about. I like to focus on the work week with Friday as my goal. On Monday I have to gear-up but by Friday I feel joy for what’s to come….

Family-Friends-Rest

This is what I love about this verse, having the end in mind as we run our race makes all the difference. I feel it speaks of our time here, doing God’s work, reminding us that our work here is only the beginning. We are encouraged to enjoy our work here…After all, this race will end one day and that is when we’ll be crowned champions- receiving a gift of a lifetime!

The thing we need to focus on is finishing with God as our partner! With Him, all of the missed turns, skinned up knees, and dehydration will no longer plague us. We will be crowned winners for eternity and we’ll sit among the most elite.

So let’s run the good race. Look to your day from start to finish. Do it by the hour- the week- the month- or the year (whatever you need to do in order to stay the course without quitting)….simply remember it is the finish that we are running to and focusing on!
