CONFUSION AND DESTRUCTION, MY HEART BREAKS FOR LAS VEGAS

LAS VEGAS OUR HEARTS ARE WITH YOU

First, I feel compelled to impress upon our minds who is responsible for this destruction and evil.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.  John 10:10

Once we can wrap our hearts, minds, and souls around that, we have to somehow cope and continue on, in this crazy world. How can we keep on when there is so much destruction and instability? We must move along by knowing what is to come, and what we truly can count on. The truth is that God will comfort us. Even through the unthinkables of this crazy world and right up until the hour of our rising. That we can count on.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.  Revelation 21:4

For now, we have to stay here in this difficult place. How can we manage with all the pain, evil, and hate around? We may be here with evil and darkness, but we cannot forget we are also here with goodness and light. It’s a choice we must cling to with all our might… to live in the light. Those living in the darkness will not know the light or be able to gain from the light that is all around. We can use God, the Father-Son-and Holy Spirit, to not only cope here…but also to rise above it all.

So that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:45

I must not make light of or look beyond the current place that our recent destruction has left us in.  With conviction though, I also want to give hope. As we pick up the pieces and depend on God we will once again feel the hope that will carry us through.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. Romans 8:18

Let’s work today to keep clear in our minds the owner of this destruction and how we can overcome.

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Ephesians 6:12-16

Let’s keep praying for those deeply affected by this evil. Let the unfailing love and power of our Father work in them and our nation. He will provide peace, healing, and comfort where pain, hurt, and confusion runs ramped. He will overcome-and will welcome us into it.
