How close did you stick to your child’s wish list?

We’re nowhere near as loving as God, yet we did all we could to deliver our child’s wishes, didn’t we?

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7-12

I was up late last night. The living room was dark, the house was quiet, and the Christmas tree just looked so nice to me. The lights brought my heart to thinking on God and the light, hope, directions we get through Him and Christ. Whenever these sorts of feeling come to mind, I quickly shoot them above and truly thank God for our gifts and blessings. These thoughts of gratitude met me with three small words carrying loads of impact, and I knew they needed to be in my morning blog.

ASK – SEEK – KNOCK

An old familiar verse and very reassuring. In Matthew 7:7-12 we are told to ask, seek, and knock. The verse goes on to explain that even ourselves- sinful and imperfect- do all we can to provide for our children. Think about their wishes this Christmas. Regardless of their age even, if they had a wish, we did what we could to provide. God, who is perfect, capable, and gracious loves us even more. We must be reassured that by this He will….

GIVE (it will be given) – DIRECT (and you will find) – DELIVER (it will be opened)

Live courageously in your hopes for greatness within the support of our father. Let’s never fail to ask, in earnest prayer, the godly desires of our heart, let’s seek His knowledge in ‘the Word’ and through the power of the Holy Spirit, and let’s knock on all the doors put before us, testing them with God at our side. He will direct our steps and HE WILL DELIVER!
