ASK

GOD WILL GIVE YOU KNOWLEDGE

IF ANYONE LACKS WISDOM (HUMMM) ASK!

I love the letter (book) of James. It is only a couple pages long, is direct, and it gives us a great understanding of how faith works. Check out this verse right off the bat explaining how faith works, and what the gift or consensuses are if we develop our faith or cling to the world.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:5-6

As many of you know I had a pretty big decision and opportunity come before me this week. To be honest, since starting this business, decisions and opportunities have been right before me and I have been doing all I can to ASK wisely and respond obediently. Then whatever happens I know is of Gods will, not my own.

So today I’m going to share how I call out to God in faith. (Now, don’t get me wrong- this is the dream- I often struggle a bit before I even realize a decision is right before me.) Once I’ve come to my senses :-), this is pretty typical for my next steps.

Think of something you really wonder about. An opportunity before you or a choice you have to make. And then consider how you might apply this verse to an ‘asking out prayer’. (I’ll use words I often use.)

  1. Ask, “All-knowing God, am I supposed to do this?’ “Almighty God, show me the way.” “Father-God, what am I to do?” (Yep, it’s really this simple – hang on.)
  2. Belief, “I know you love me, and I know your plan is best- so I trust the path you have set before me and I will go where you ask. I will watch for a door and go through ones I feel are in line with your commands. I will know those that work- were just where you wanted me. The doors that close you also commanded. With humble pride, I will thank you now and later for your leading steps and loving care over the path you have me on.”
  3. No doubt, each morning and night I re-pray a prayer like above. All through the day, I try to be alert and mindful of the Holy Spirit nudging. I fill my mind with quiet time and joyful positive Christian music and education. I am alert to darkness that will try to push its way in and I immediately call it out and give to Jesus. One of the hugest parts of ‘no doubt’ is giving God the glory.

See if you are in the presence of mind to thank God/Jesus, then you are there— in Him. Darkness and Jesus tend to run in separate crowds. Darkness (doubt, anger, impatience, fear of failure, etc.) is used on us when we are weak to try and bring us down and make us doubt. When we are in Jesus, faith-infused, and walking in the glory of God- Praising God… Satan knows he is no match and moves on to places he can do his work in.

I hope you find the letter of James helpful- as well as how I go about using it. Take your decision or opportunity you have rolling around in your mind right now. Think about the ASK-BELIEVE-NO DOUBT prayer and go for it… PUT IT IN GOD’S HANDS… He loves you and has great plans for you.

Have a wonderful day and remember…
