Acknowledge Stress but Awake Refreshed

It’s okay to feel a moment of agitation at night—but we cannot remain in that.
Let’s acknowledge the stress only enough to let God do his great work in us!
I wanted to send a nighttime message for anyone who has nights when it is difficult to rest from hardship, strain, anxiety, or agitation. First, I simply want to remind us to only give difficulty, hardship, strain, or anxiety the little bit of respect it truly deserves.
To me, the only respect that thinking on a poor or negative thing can provide is to acknowledge that we actually see it as poor and negative. We can then learn and grow.
When we have difficulties and walk around oblivious to their destruction, we are truly in a hard place. Oh, I am not saying to dwell on this thinking. In fact, I am encouraging you to do the opposite. We can’t get stuck thinking we are bad, have done wrong, or have fallen short. When we recognize a nagging restlessness, we simply need to fess up to the Lord.
You are sinful, I am sinful, even the people we consider most wise are sinful and human. God does not have a measuring stick. His love is unconditional. So as you recognize your trials, lift them up to the Almighty. Let the triune do good work in and on you while we sleep. Awake refreshed with a coat of armor for the new day to come. Do as this verse says: Cry out to the Lord! He will answer!
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. You will awake in the morning sustained by our Father! Psalm 34:17
