More on me Monday, these Monday blog posts are for me to open up a little about myself. I hope I can inspire thought or ignite change by real things I go through or by the joys I feel.
Something I have been working through is how important it is to dream. I’m wired for working, being diligent, and conscientious. Dreaming is just hard and quite frankly feels a bit odd to me. I like to have big goals and I will simply focus on the steps and work needed to keep moving forward. Then if I reach the goal I figure God wanted me to. If I don’t, I know He has something better around the corner.
I know how good it is to dream and often encourage my coaching clients to dream big reminding them of the biblical truth and rational for dreaming.
What about you? Do you dream? What are your dreams?
Consider these 7 verses that I will use to encourage myself to dream big….and for you to dream big!
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33 ESV
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Romans12:2 ESV
I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 ESV
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 ESV
“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; do not hold back; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes. Isaiah 54:2 ESV
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
Let’s take today to dream a big dream and to seek the Lords presence in this plan. Let us remember to be patient and in constant prayer of these plans and dreams. Let’s call on God in great faith for the strength we will need to do these great things. Today let’s enlarge our tent and lengthen our cords by opening up our minds, hearts, and souls to bigger things, reassured by the declaration of God in Jeremiah 29:11.
