2 CURES … When bad thoughts keep plaguing you!

Man, I hate to think we let the devil have enough power over our lives that it prevents us from greatness. I actually avoid talking about the devil too often or acknowledging what power he does have. But I also don’t think we give him enough credit, in some respects.

Oh, we see his work at hand with great evil and despair, but we sometimes fail to see his tactics at work in our daily lives.


The thing is, if we don’t really consider his work at play in our lives, then we allow it to continue. We need to call him out for the bully he is!

So here it is. The devil has one agenda, and it is to get us to TURN OUR BACKS ON GOD! It hasn’t been until my more adult years that I truly began to call the devil out for who he is and for who he is NOT. The easiest way for me to do this is to think about what I know is true of God.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” Philippians 4:8

This is when we need to realize what is going on. It isn’t “US”.  Sure, we are human… “we” will have sinful thoughts at times, but NEVER own these thoughts. They are not yours!


You are a child of the one TRUE God.

These sinful thoughts are coming straight from the devil trying to get you when you’re down and weak. He is most likely spending his time on you because…Yes, you are so close to deepening your faith, your relationship with God, from receiving great blessings—and so on.

I’ve done a lot of studying on sin. It breaks my heart when people I coach believe that they are their sin. I have filled my mind with as much truth on the matter as I can retain. Most of the literature I read, Bible included, explain sin to come from 3 places…

  • Lust of the flesh.

  • Lust of the eyes.

  • Boastful pride of life.


Here all others dwell like envy, adultery, lying, anger, doubt, selfishness, and so much more.

Really, if your thoughts or actions don’t follow Philippians 4:8- then it isn’t from God. And get rid of it as fast as you can. It is literally keeping you from greatness and trying to pull you from God.

“Get rid of it, how?” Easier said than done, right?


Yet, when you give your life to Christ you are no longer ruled by Satan who has power here on earth.

Your ruler and your power come from the Almighty and from the Kingdom of God! Satan will NEVER be as powerful as God….YOUR father.

  1. We need to denounce Satan’s power over us when we recognize it happening.

  2. Do this by claiming your place as God’s child, and trust in the ‘Word’.


“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” James 4:7.
